Well how long is a piece of string?
That is like asking how much can I earn as an artist or a programmer. I have met mechanics who earn over $3,000 per week working by themselves without staff. I have met builders who are millionaires and other struggling to make a living.
The principle is the same.
Can I ask you a question – would you be happy to pay a surgeon $10 per hour?
The obvious answer is NO – why? Because they are performing a vital task. This is the same in the online world.
So, if you are a Virtual Assistant OR wanting to start a business at home the question is not how much can I really earn as a Virtual Assistant BUT…
What do I need to do to earn XXX as a Virtual Assistant?
If you are performing perfunctory tasks, and there is nothing wrong with that, you cannot expect above average wages. However, if you decide to invest in your virtual business (See previous article – Are you Investing in your Virtual Assistant Business?) and up skill – you will find it easier to earn good money.
If you can present a value proposition to your clients, then they will pay more. For example, if you could help someone generate traffic to their website, increase their list, expand their social media presence, etc – a client will pay more for your services.
Here is an example – I was working with an accounting firm a while back and implemented a Google Adwords campaign. He paid me handsomely and was happy because within a short period of time he picked up 2 x $10,000 per year clients.
Basically it is called “Offering value over services”
So if you want to earn a good income as a Virtual Assistant, do the research, link with people and see what the big need is out there in the marketplace. It will take an investment of time and money on your part.
